His last few years he played on the Walsh/Clements/Hancock/Young merry-go-round
Drage was still productive in the '92 & '93 seasons, but he had pretty inconsistent QB play due to injuries and inexperience. Most of those guys ended up with season-ending injuries during the '92 season, and 4th-string Tom Young got to start the bowl game. Walsh's best season was in '94, but Drage was gone by then.

Based on overall athleticism and routes, I would give the edge to Dax, but Drage had an uncanny ability to get open and make plays. LaVell even called out his lack of "elite" speed during interviews and instead said that Drage had good "football speed". He was kind of like Jerry Rice in that way--never a burner, but you saw him getting away from DB's all of the time.
