Was talking to a guy who was a QB in the Bears training camp a few years ago -
back when John Fox was the coach. He was telling us they were doing some 7x7 work and he threw a pass to a receiver - I think it was Brandon Marshall. Since our friend came from a smaller school, he wasn't used to leading a WR as much as he had to lead the NFL receivers. On a certain play, he threw it and hit the WR right in the chest on about a 10-15 yard dig route. He thought it was one of the best passes he ever threw so in his head he was totally celebrating.

Then the coach came over and said it was only a mediocre pass and wouldn't get the job done in the NFL. The coach wanted the QB to lead the WR about 12 inches in front of the WR so the WR didn't have to slow down at all. The coach yelled that is the difference between first downs and touchdowns.

At that moment, our friend realized he would never have the stuff it takes to be an NFL QB.
