Um, I think you are remembering the situation the way you want. I'm not sure

that he gave BYU the time of day at first, (then he got dumped pretty late in the process by CAL). He chose NOT to come to BYU initially, which may have affected his recruitment later.

Who really knows if the fit would have worked at BYU? I think both sides came out of the situation OK.
