As I remember it, his father Tim was at BYU finishing a degree at the time

& it was Tim who really pressed the issue upon Bronco (about signing his son) — the parties got together, but it seems to have died down rather quickly & quietly.

I think it was mutually determined that maybe BYU wasn't the best fit for Torrey.

I think it had nothing to do with his talent level.
