My kids are 1/4 Tongan (wife is half) the culture is a major influence on all of
lives. My kids are very fair skinned but have Polynesian features. It’s funny we are already dealing with this exact type of behavior.

My kids play for All Poly basketball and about two weeks ago a guy walks in the gym looks at our team and says, “I thought we were playing All Poly, there are a bunch of white kids on this team, are they allowed to be on this team?” We have 2 white kids and 5 kids with Polynesian descent, some with fairer skin, so I could see where he would be confused. But why even say it? My kids are proud to be Of Tongan descent, my wife has 96 first cousins on her Tongan side, we are heavily involved in the culture attending weddings, reunions etc. my wife taught my daughter how to do a tauʻolunga and she has performed at a wedding. It is what it is, you’re not alone Zach my quarter pounders are right there with you!
