This is so true. Cowherd recently did a show on this the other day talking about how weak NBA owners/GMs/Coachers are in dealing with their stars. They are all entitled because they grow up in the AAU system and are catered to their whole life. They are given star treatment from a young age and get whatever they want. Heck, they can even get coaches fired in jr. high. They then go to college where they are again given start treatment. They are only there for 1 year and really don't have to do any school work. They get to do whatever they want and are treated like kings. Then they go to the NBA and make more than any other league and it's all GUARANTEED. Adam Silver has also enabled a lot of this by being a player's commissioner. David Stern was much tougher on players and they didn't get away with these antics.
Compare that to football where players have to be good teammates. They aren't coddled their whole life. NFL owners/GMs/Coaches will cut players in a heartbeat if they are ruining a team. Contracts aren't guaranteed. Roger Goodell is tough on players and they all hate him, but it forces players to play.
I am a diehard NBA fan and have been my whole life but it's getting so tiresome. And I have no issue with players standing for social issues and fighting for their communities, but the complete lack of gratitude by some of these players toward this country and society that enables them to play a game and make more money than virtually every human who has ever lived makes you not want to watch.
