Honest question about minimum wage and inflation

When i was in high school in 2000, I worked at a minimum wage job making 5.75/hr. Fast forward 21 years and the minimum wage is now at 7.25/hr while the cost of living has risen way more than that. Other wages have not risen to keep up with inflation either.

I am not in favor of raising minimum wage to 15 by any means. My question is merely where is all the money going from inflation if not to pay wages, including higher minimum wage?
