at BYU as there is anywhere else. The boundary lines are shifted. But the room in between is every bit as wide. At BYU, professors are only allowed to go so far in publicly questioning or criticizing the sponsoring institution. That is a limitation. But at nearly every other institution there are "no go" zones established on the basis of favoring irreligion and political correctness.
And, for the most part, the lack of full ability to criticize the church plays little to no role in what is taught. There's no value to bagging on the church to teach math. The same is true with languages. And when it comes to science, the church doesn't restrict teaching concepts like evolution or anything else that has any likelihood of coming up. And on an on.
