Movies as a kid

One of the big highlights as a kid was when we would have a family movie night. My dad would go down to the Sounds Easy on the corner of Fort Union Blvd and 13th East and rent a VCR for the weekend. We would rent two or three videos and have a big production watching them as a family. My mom would make a huge bowl of popcorn with that plug-in popcorn maker thingy everyone had in the 70s and early 80s.

I now can stream just about any movie I want on Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Apple tv. As convenient as it is today, there was something really cool about the old movie nights. It was such an event.
