I'm not really that emotionally invested in their careers. They had incredible college careers, and are going to make more money than I probably ever will even if they never become full time starters in the NFL or end up on a championship-contending team.
Of course, their success does help BYU recruit better, which I'm all for. But there seem to be a LOT of people who seem to be much more invested in their success. For those who feel this way (and who don't know them personally, which changes things), what primarily drives that feeling?
(EDITED: I should add that I really do cheer for them and legitimately want them to succeed. I like watching Taysom play and definitely became a fan of him personally, and would love for him to succeed long term on the big stage. I want Zach to have a great career and have loved watching his development over his career, and I hope me makes millions of dollars and wins titles and individual awards. But if he's drafted by the Jets or if he ends up holding a clipboard, etc., while I'll be disappointed for him for his sake — he'll be just fine and I'm not going to obsess over where he gets drafted and if he goes to a contender and etc., etc., etc.)
