That happened to me. I think it wasn’t hard water deposits but it was dried soap. I switched soaps and it went away.

Run it empty 2x on hot with a big cup of vinegar on the bottom rack

Buy some powdered citric acid and run that through your machine

Run it with a dishwasher cleaner a couple times to break up the mineral deposits
