I once bought a Driver at Kmart that was clearanced for $5.

I thought this is probably a piece of crap and worst case scenario I can break it on a tree if it is no good. This driver has made me look like a really good golfer for about 15 years now. It really surprised me. This is a totally true story. Too bad for you, Kmart no longer exists. Lol

The driver loft depends on your swing speed and height.

Get a more lofted driver than you think - 10.5 degrees will help you get a bit

10.5 is pretty standard like mentioned above. But a lot depends on your swing and ball trajectory.

If your normal ball flight is high, don’t get more than a 9.5.
