My two stories about Waylon Jennings - 1)My best friend was killed in
the September after we graduated from high school. Every once in a while, I will go to the cemetery to visit his grave. I wanted to go one time while we were out and about, but my kids didn't want to go. So, I told them Waylon Jennings was in the same graveyard and they could spend the time we were there looking for his grave rather than staying with me. For a while after that (they were pretty young then) they would ask if we could go to the cemetery. When they would ask without any context, I would get weird looks from other people.

2) I was a stay at home dad and did the best I could to make my kid's life normal considering most others had a mom at home. But one thing I could never really do was listen to the silly kid songs. Anyway, one day I take my daughter (who was three) to a mommy and me class at the library. We are sitting in a circle and the kids are all taking turns saying their favorite song. We get lots of stuff like "Wheels on the bus" and what not. We get to my daughter and she answers "Ramblin' Man". A few of the mom's kind of giggled. The poor librarian looked so confused and was like "I don't think I am familiar with that song."
