I have a teenage son that has autism. He is high-functional, but also has oppositional behavior and anger problems.
We’ve been doing ABA for years, but now our insurance won’t cover it. When we asked why, they said he doesn’t meet “MCG 24th edition” guidelines. When I asked what those guidelines are, they said they didn’t know and said we could file an appeal and ask at that time.
It’s bull crap in my mind, but does anyone know what the guidelines actually are? I Google it and get definitions and reasons for the guidelines, but for the life of me I can’t find out what these secretive guidelines are.
I hate the way this all works. It’s like insurance companies don’t want us to get needed medical care.
