It was unclear what the exact point was you were trying to make. But, again,
BYU, which is a church owned institution, is holding in person classes. Class size is limited to about 1/3 of capacity. If that were applied to the MC, then you could have 6000; or as I suggested, you can be even more cautious and set it at half that number. And to your point, still be doing something that the church has apparently approved for BYU.
