I was thrilled with the half-time discussion and appreciate that Shaq was willing to own up to his comments and engage in a little back and forth with Donovan (didn't run from the conflict).
Part of the reason I loved the conversation is they were 100% right. Mitchell is a very good scorer and a clear all-star, but to be the best player on a championship team he needs to round out his game. All the top 10 players in the league have at least 2 elite skills (e.g., Giannis scoring and defense, LeBron scoring and facilitating).
I think Mitchell could become a superstar if he develops his defense (on ball, help, and rebounding) and floor general skills (he has some highlights but can't pick a defense apart). Right now Mitchell is trying to develop like Damian Lillard, but I think his ceiling would be reached by developing more like Kyle Lowry. Imagine peak Lowry with Mitchell's scoring and athleticism... OMGosh!
