I still have my 2004 Suburban. At the time we bought it we were considering a Tahoe...glad we went bigger...
It has been the best vehicle I have owned from a maintenance standpoint. I have changed the battery out a couple of times and a water pump. Other than that it has been great. If you want room go with a Suburban over a Toyota.
I towed a 9k lbs trailer with it for years, hauled plants, bark, sand and gravel in the back. Lots of Scout trips and family vacations as well.
It is also my favorite car for long road trips.
