As far as a metric like KenPom is concerned, it does not care much whether you win or lose, but rather how many points you score compared to the other team. For those metrics it would be better to win by 30 then lose by 1 than it would be to win both games by 1.
Last year we rapidly rose up the metrics because we blew out almost every team in WCC play. We rose considerably after we beat Portland on Thursday.
The mantra of “just win” doesn’t work the same way as it used to in college basketball.
