There are 68 versus 12 slots for the postseason. The expectation should still be for the committee to be biased, because that's the main reason for the committee to exist. However, for a top-40 team, the committee mainly decides seeding rather than inclusion. Both basketball and football committees are biased, but the basketball committee has far less power to exclude.
