The reality is that BYU is an excellent institution that will always perform well in undergrad programs and a few applied graduate programs (i.e. business and law). Anything else that might raise its academic ranking is simply not part of the mission. I love both BYU and BYUI for what they are, including the differences between them. I don't really care about Utah, other than wanting to beat the on every field, court, track, pool, or any other place of competition. And my kids know that blue is for game day, so that's what matters.
