during the NBA lockout after Jimmer's senior year. I was in Provo and staying overnight at a Provo hotel the night of the game. I had just quit my last job to start my own business, I was low on cash and trying to avoid as much debt as I could avoid while getting my business going. Even though, IIRC, the tickets were only $10, my wife and I walked right past the Marriott Center while the game was going on in order to go to a free lecture on campus (which turned out to be pretty good by the way).
That may have been one of the sadder moments I've experienced in the last 10 years if you only count things that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
