actually on a per attempt basis the shot 0-3’ range is a higher value
...we see a lot of teams that live and die by the 3 but if you can get the shot attempt right at the rim in the long run it’s better. I remember reading an NBA article that rated the value of each shot from 3 pt on in and the highest value was 0-3’ range at 1.25 pts per attempt while the 3pt shot was 1.05 pts per attempt.
