I wonder how often people who have these sort of monstrous tendencies to abuse children kill themselves preemptively or after the act, but before they are caught. They struggle to control an obviously broken, mentally ill mind, and yet have enough morality left to realize how horrific it is, and so they quietly off themselves.

I don't mean that as in any way judging people who have killed themselves or those who have lost family or friends to suicide. Depression is a cruel and unforgiving thing that can strike people for no reason.
