featured Britain, I have to say I am impressed, respect the kid, and actually would support his remaining college career. Great representative for his church, school, and family. Two points I will make here.
1. In describing his recruitment to Utah, he made specific mention of coaches that believed in him even in light of his size and weight. For a 18 year old this makes a huge difference and certainly built confidence in his abilities. Not to say BYU coaches did not suggest his size wouldn't be an issue, but add the relationship the Covey family has with Wittingham family, and you have a difficult decision turn into a fairly easy decision between rival school and one you grew up supporting.
2. Britain describes the culture and cohesion Wittingham has built at Utah. My feeling is Utah certainly had the edge in culture during the last few years of Bronco and first few years of Kalani. Every time BYU plays Utah during those years, the swagger and confidence is recognized in the way they play. Remember the game they were down 35-7? While I believe Kalani has and is building this type of cohesion, it takes years of creating the foundation.
Anyway, couple of my takeaways from listening to Britain podcast.
