i try to pay in cash to test the math skills of teens these days. its depressing
my fave recent was at mcdonalds, got a drink and my total was $2.16. I gave him 2 dollars and a quarter. Then i said, "oh wait, here's a penny too".
He was dumbfounded. He sat there for about 10 seconds, then he said, "So do you want your change?"
