Not a big enough arm? Not all that accurate an arm?

Those were skills Ty Detmer didn't have too much of in college compared to his peers, either.

But Ty saw the field better than any of them — & to an uncanny level most games — he made the right reads & decisions. Imo, (& I don't mean to compare Baylor too closely to Ty) — but Romney does that very well as well. Two years ago he clearly did it better than Hall or Wilson.

That was two years ago, granted — & the billing on Conover is he does those things at an uncanny level — & with a big, accurate arm to boot. So who knows?

But I do agree with gwalker. If Hall can have his name chucked around as being able to hold off Conover for the starting job — I certainly don't see why Baylor's name can't be mentioned as having a legit right to the same.
