Cougarclaw Intervention Needed
I didn't have much of a problem with them walking me out. They were paranoid and
it fit their culture really well. it wasn't a surprise really. Most people didn't know I'd tried to quit, since the firm had asked me to keep it quiet. But it was an open floor plan so everyone could hear and see that I was cleaning out my desk and they started to ask questions. Multiple people got upset. But the hardest part was all the folks who weren't at their desks when I was walked out so i wasn't able to say goodbye to half the team. I was very friendly with a lot of folks on that team, what a cultural gut punch to be surprised like that

Also added to my narrative of victimization that they wouldn't even let me quit. ha. They can go suck on a rotten pickle.

oh, The other fun part? emptying my desk of all files and records from the past year. I asked the manager if he wanted any of a considerable amount of information I had acquired and stored in my desk. (Everyone was watching by this point or trying to appear like they weren't) He thought about it briefly and then smugly replied that he had "all the information that he required". I strongly disagreed with that assessment, but seemed fitting that all my work had no value to him. I thought about convincing him otherwise, but realized I didn't care anymore and decided to take him at his word and gladly dumped it all in the shred bin. I hope he needed every one of those papers some day.
