Being a former Davis Dart in the age of the "Double Wing", if I was a young OC at BYU, and had Hall, Andrada, and
McChesney available, with Holker and Rex at TE and Pau'u or Romney at WR, and Mason Wake at FB I would definitely have a couple good play sets where I would shift into and run the double wing.
Why? because with a fleet footed QB that can pass, you can keep defenses completely guessing.
Think about it. You have an offense like we saw last year that has a QB who is a BIGGER run threat. The same or better skill players, and now, you have to prepare for a set of offensive plays that no one uses in FBS, but yet that offense we ran last year can still operate from.
So, even if you show the double wing, the plays we used last year can still be run. Only, you force opposing Ds to waste a lot of time figuring out how to effectively defend it.
