Ode to Hoy The Truffle Shuffler
What a career for Roy Williams. Happy that he is able to retire after such a great coaching career at 70 years old.
33 years as a head coach. (43 overall coaching in Collegiate Basketball)
Started as an assistant under Dean Smith in 1978
In 1988 went to Kansas to be the Head coach. Took them to 14 straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Four Final Four appearances and 2 National Championship Game appearances and amassed a .805 win %.
Became the Head Coach of North Carolina in 2003.
Won 3 National Championships at UNC. Went to 5 Final Four Appearances. 5th Coach to reach 900 wins, and the fastest to reach that total in the fewest number of games.
The only coach to have lead two separate teams to at least four Final Fours.

Congrats Coach on a great career, happy retirement.

Always liked this photo with Dean Smith and "His Airness".
