Just read an article on the stimulus that answers some questions that I have
seen on here recently.
It looks like the IRS will be doing a "plus up" payment for those whose situations have changed on their 2020 tax return, such as adding new dependents in 2020. Based on this it seems like you won't have to wait until next year to get the tax credit.
