...who was always yelling at his kid ALWAYS. He once told us that his son was so laid back that he only played well when he was angry. So he was trying to get him angry. And it was honestly E V E R Y play.
Our kids' team was on defense. He's yelling at his son, who plays on the DL, to get off the blocks and make a tackle. Next play his son ends up sacking the QB. One of the other parents chuckled and ask "what do you say after a play like that?" The guy looked over his shoulder at us, then turned to the field and yelled "You should've made that sack sooner!"
We asked our son once what this other kid thought of his dad yelling at the games so much. He told us that in the huddle he would just shrug and laugh about it. He'd heard so much yelling he didn't hear it any more. He was a pretty happy-go-lucky kid - his loud mouth dad didn't seem to have much impact on him at all.
