Need some advice on job offer etiquette
I am currently mulling over a couple options for a paid summer internship (I'm a sophomore at BYU currently). Here are my options:

Firm A:
- pays better (like 30% raise when compared to Firm A)
- in a role and industry that I am not as interested in
- not as prestigious/well known
- they need to know by next Wednesday if I am in for the summer or not.

Firm B:
- pays less
- in a role and industry I am much more interested in
- interned there last summer, absolutely loved it
- chance to build on what I did previously, expand my role, etc
- more prestigious/well known

Now here is my predicament: Firm A extended an offer to me, and needs to know by next Wednesday if I am in or not. But Firm B's interview process/extending offers will probably not be completed for another 2 weeks, past Firm A's deadline. Frankly, I would rather be at Firm B, and am fairly confident I will be able to get the position (but not certain by any means).

How terrible would it be if I verbally accepted the offer at Firm A, and then bailed for Firm B, if they did extend an offer? Firm B's interview process would end before Firm A's position starts, so I wouldn't be leaving after my start date.

Additionally, there is no pen and paper signing at either firm, just verbal acceptance. Nothing legally binding or anything like that.

What say ye, CB?
