Our dog got a ham bone shard lodged in his tummy and the vet said he’s septic
His glucose is down to 33 (usually 100) and his temp was 94 (usually 101 for dogs). They said he’s not a candidate for surgery unless he recovers a bit with IV antibiotics and glucose.

He’s been my best little pal for 10 years. We’ve always let him gnaw on bigger bones from dinner, I’m feeling terrible for giving him the Easter ham bone. Anyway for those who know about this what are his chances? They just said septic dogs have a poor prognosis.
