Kids and couldn’t see why they should be hated. Later, I remember meeting a civil rights leader my freshmen year at BYU (Ralph Abernathy spoke at the DeJong concert hall) and feeling compelled to apologize for the racism I was raised with. He gave me a big hug and told me I could be better. It was a pivot point for me.
Fortuenalru, my dad had his own pivot point when he discovered different races in our family history. He moderated his views and changed significantly before passing.
Not sure why I interjected this into this thread...maybe because racism and bullying are the same?
