obviously Pope made some promises to both of them regarding playing time, because he tinkered pretty hard with the 2 & 3 --but also the 4-- trying to make those two work defensively.
Saunders isn't all that big a guard himself, but I think he makes us immediately better, & hopefully much better over the course of a season. In the little footage of Saunders he has struck me as more of a combo guard than a pure point. Which should be fine. I think ball handling is a focused point of development for all our guards & wings in the offseason.
