inducement to have endo of life discussions with patients while they were still relatively healthy and able to make decisions. Actually a pretty good idea. These discussions can take an hour or more and there is zero reason for a PCP to have this talk with patients because talking doesn’t get reimbursed nearly as much as thinking and doing. So taking 40-50 minutes to discuss this in clinic means docs lose money they could’ve made if they avoid it.

I think they need to have an incentive for patients to talk with their family. Writing it down does very little.
