I think the other thing to consider is that with Taysom as QB1 he'll play a lot more snaps than he would as the gadget player. If they see tremendous value in him playing as a part time player (Taysom played typically 10-20 snaps a game as the gadget utility guy while Brees played over 60 snaps a game) it should be easy to see the better value when he's the QB1. If you love Taysom for 10 plays at game at TE/RB/WR then you'll love him for 60+ snaps at QB.
So I don't think that guys theory carries a lot of weight. I'm sure it will be considered but not nearly as weighty of a consideration as the article gives it imo.
