The gimmick role that NO has had him in is great, but it's never going to pay the kind of money that a starting QB in the NFL gets paid. If all Taysom cares about is having fun playing football then none of this matters. The smoke and mirrors contract that he is playing under is chump change compared to what a real NFL QB gets paid. What does Russel Wilson earn? How about Patrick Mahomes? They are both supremely mobile QBs who just happen to be amazing passers, right?

I'd really like to see him develop into a Russell Wilson type of QB who is mobile, can run if pressed, but who is a complete deadeye throwing the ball. I don't want him to be a Lamar Jackson QB with one cheap shot between him and retirement.

I think Taysom is smart enough to realize that the gimmick role doesn't benefit him....it benefits NO at his expense developing as a QB for the future. If Winston gets the nod and Taysom is forced back into the mult-tool role then he should make plans with his Agent to start looking for a different opportunity.
