Then you have a 16 team play off. All conf champs automatically in.
Seeding is based on combination of the conference OOC record, and the individual teams OOC, where the game was played, margin of victory, and whatever relevant stats make the measurement better.

After placing all 10 conf champs in, 6 of the highest ranking teams who are not conf champs. make it in.

so a 16 team slate means 4 weekends of football. do the first 2 1st and 2nd sats in Dec. Then the semi final games on NYD, and the championship week later.

If bowls want to invite teams to play after the 2nd weekend, go for it. They wouldn't be any more meaningless than they are right now.
