Has he fallen on hard times? Did he spend all of his book and movie money on other things? Maybe that’s none of our business, but he is asking for a lot of money for teeth. Given his background, he should have a lot of friends and connections.

I’m no dentist, but the story about how he lost his teeth is also a bit suspect.

I should probably just be more sympathetic and realize that this guy is simply asking for help. But something is a bit strange about this.
