across all sports. Currently, only football, basketball (M&W), hockey and baseball must sit out a year after transferring.
Under the proposal, players could transfer once in their undergraduate career and be immediately eligible to play. To qualify, they would have to have a good academic standing and meet progress-toward-degree (APR) requirements.
For their part, schools would have to educate the players on the impact of transferring, including academic requirements and financial aid policies.
If adopted, the change would go into effect immediately.
