WOW!! Just had a visit with a realtor. We told her we are probably going to

List the home as for sale by owner.

She originally reached out to us and asked if she could personally walk through our home. She had learned it was for coming up for sell soon and had a couple clients she wanted to show it to.

Almost immediately she started a pitch on how she could help us sell it. That was when I politely said we are planning to list it for sale by owner on MLS.

She took a 180 pretty quickly and went from best friend to complete enemy.

All but said realtors are banning together to not show homes that are not listed by agents. I said you would prevent your clients who are paying you to show them all the options from seeing everything. She stumbled over words for a sec and then just said we could make so much more selling it via an agent. Quickly wrapped up and left.

Really left a bad taste in my mouth for realtors. What a crappy bunch of folks if that is really the case.
