If you want to be a real ice cream snob, only by local fresh ice creams.
Or maybe Haagen Dazs. It's denser than most ice creams because they don't allow much air to mix in. They also don't use any emulsifiers besides egg yoks. (see guar gum or tara gum). That's why they taste better.
