I've worked from home for 11 years now. Regarding the point about separation
of work and home, after about a year I started to get burned out. I realized it was because I wasn't truly separating my work and non-work time. I would work outside of the 9-5 work hours when I didn't really need to, and it sucked. Once I made the firm mindset change that 9-5 I was at work, and outside of that I wasn't (unless there was an emergency of course), it greatly improved my mental health and enjoyment working from home. I've also made sure to have a separate area for work. I don't spend time outside of work in the same room/area that I dedicate as "work". That has also definitely helped.
