Had he gone to a bigger school (as a low ranking recruit) maybe he gets lost in the annual comings and goings of 4-5 star top 100 players as coaches are paying more attention to the demands of those players and their helicopter parents etc and don’t spend any time on a low ranking recruit.
At Weber, He wasn’t a one and done on the level of a Jalen Suggs etc. Lillard was groomed to be an NBA guard starting his freshman year by WSU coaches as they invested 4 yrs of development into him. He didn't become a lottery pick in spite of Weber State. He became a lottery pick because of it.
