in with the fat-free craze of the 1990’s and transubstantiation is silly.
Transubstantiation is complete nonsense, while global warming is undeniable. We can certainly debate the role that man has played in this warming, but the data clearly shows that global temperatures have risen between .8 and .9 degrees C since the late 1800’s. Some of this is almost certainly rebound from the Maunder Minimum/Little Ice Age period, but there is very little doubt that mankind has contributed to this warming as well. Anthropogenic Global Warming isn’t a religion. Some people are very dogmatic about it, but at the end of the day there is very strong evidence and observation underpinning the notion that human activity is causing the earth to warm measurably.
Over-population isn’t a religion, either. There is rightly significant concern among scientists and policy makers regarding population growth, but that doesn’t make it a religion.
To characterize a global pandemic that has killed 3 million people (560,000+ in America alone) in barely a year as a “hysteria” is ridiculous. Absolutely comical if you didn’t really believe it.
You can pretend that these things are as silly as transubstantiation, Scientology’s origin story, or the idea that a lump of banded iron jasper can grant somebody the power to translate ancient languages to make you feel better, but they’re not.
