I see very little difference between smoking and the use of ketchup. They both
change the taste of the meat. You like the smoked taste, she likes the ketchup taste. Some of our children when they were young put ketchup on rib eye steak. The next time we had steak for dinner my wife serve them hot dogs with ketchup on them. She told the kids hot dogs with ketchup tasted about the same as rib eye steak with ketchup and were less expensive. Any way, the point is that taste is different from one person to the next. Just prepare your wife hot dogs the next time you have smoke brisket.
