I disagree with Mark Jackson's multiple takes on resting players.
He says that if teams want to rest players, they need to do it the old school way when he played- the teams would go up by 20 in the fourth and rest their starters. He also said earlier that he disagrees with resting players and is opposed to the Jazz resting players this past month, that they should just go out and win as many games as they can.

First of all, this is a condensed season and they don't get as many rest days as in prior seasons. The tired legs is showing for the Jazz. And what they don't want to do is expend all their energy to get the 1 seed only to wilt in the playoffs. Also, with some superstar teams in the west like the Lakers and Clippers, the Jazz will need to be 100% if they want to go to the NBA finals. So if resting them causes them to drop to the 2 seed but allows them to enter the playoffs healthy and strong, I say rest the players. The ultimate goals isn't merely to get the #1 seed. The ultimate goal is to win an NBA championship.
