Blanket. There is a absolutely talent at all of these schools, most of which likely exceeded BYU’s incoming class ranking annually.

However, these programs didn’t give the talent much of a framework and opportunity over this last year to fight for these young men and position them for success rather than worrying about lawyers and internet mobs. Having a group of leaders fight for the players at BYU to prepare for and have a season has given these young men hope and opportunity that they otherwise would have had if the leaders were worried about tweets and finger-wagging professors. The results listed are a direct result of leadership. All of the credit in the world to Tom, the crew in the AD, Worthen, etc. that saw the wisdom in navigating the most sensible and best result for these young men.

I’m not saying this list is the end all about BYU and what they did; it’s also emblematic of leaders elsewhere not doing right for their young men, entrusted in that school’s care with a lot of hopes and dreams by families, that have largely dedicated their lives to playing football.
