I'm a fan of the Trinity study and 4% Rule (of thumb).

It isn't perfect either, but it is a great goalpost.

I use madfientist's calculator in my own spreadsheet and it matches up pretty closely with the PC planner

Interesting. I do use his "laboratory" too but I haven't compared to the PC planner.
